I have been inspired by the John Lewis bedding set pictured above. It’s the Designer’s Guild Watelet set (double duvet £69). This is the look that I am going to go for in my bedroom, although it’ll be a little bit more shabby-chic. I don’t own that bedding yet but it’s on the wedding gift list! Instead of the bed pictured, I want a metal bed. I love the look, and have convinced him indoors it can be all manly. So the hunt began.

Firstly, it’s worth mentioning how cheap you can get metal beds for. I was surprised to find this one for just £129 from Beds Direct but then realised a lot of metal beds are similarly priced. Bonus.

This is one of my favourites. It’s such a recognised design, it’s the Timolin Cast Metal Bed and not badly priced at £339 from Beds on Legs. This one got vetoed by him indoors though, he thought it looked like a hospital bed. Really? I can’t quite see it myself. Anyway….

I like the Cara from OBC but at €629 I can’t justify it and it’s a little too fancy for me. We’re on a budget after all. So what did I do? Well visit my local Ikea of course and there on display was this:
It looks better in the flesh. It has a foot which is inspired by the Timolin, it’s solid and has wooden slats as opposed to metal ones (as I have been told that metal slats aren’t good for your mattress??) and costs just £129. It’s called the Leirvik, and it’s now got pride of place in my bedroom. I’m now deciding what to do with the walls and it really is a shame I haven’t got that bedding yet!

I’ve got this White Ikea bed too – it’s so fancy looking at a great price!
Im gutted. They’re out of stock for the yellow pillows. Sob sob.
You can get those yellow pillows from IKEA. Besides, all you need to do is shop around a bit to find yellow covers.
Cool! Going to get this bed now!
