I attended Top Drawer, a retail trade show for design led products at the Olympia this past Sunday and felt gutted that I couldn’t make it on the Monday as I would have hotfooted it to design journalist Charlotte Abrahams seminar about wallpaper’s return to fashion. I did stop by an exhibit of several of the wallpapers featured which also had a copy there to leaf through.
Published on 2nd October, Wallpaper – The Ultimate Guide showcases contemporary wallpaper in three areas – architectural illusions, fabulous florals, and pasted pictures. Aside from providing a history, tracing movements, and highlighting the current scene, she’s also included full size, full page reproductions so you can get the full effect of these visual delights, plus how to use and hanging tips. Featuring the likes of Miss Print, Sanderson, and some of my favourite peeps, Absolute Zero Degrees (Mini Moderns), if you’re a wallpaper appreciator, this book is a must.
Available for pre-order from Amazon for £21. RRP £30.
