There’s Russian dolls and there’s extra cool ones like these on this screenprinted tea towel by London based illustrator Ros Shiers. Even though I’m a colour fiend, I love the femininity against a backdrop of warm cream natural cotton. £10 from ToDryFor.

I think the last time I was in BHS may have been some time back in the 80s, but I must nip into the Oxford Street branch and check out their lighting. My eyes immediately homed in on the ‘spun’ table and floor lamps (£96-£200) which remind me of some of my favourite lighting, the ’spindle’ lighting by Habitat. The big steal though is the oversized white Mikko floor task lamp (£200), as spending some serious G’s on a giant Anglepoise 1227 is out of the question, well for some of us anyway…

I’m not the biggest owl fan in the world, unlike some I could mention *ahem Nat* nor am I the biggest fan of ornaments, far from it in fact, but I came across these gorgeous owls from Hannah Turner and fell in love immediately. It’s that old school retro feel I love. They’re just so dreamy!
They come in four different sizes, with three patterns to choose from and my favourite is definitely the blue one, although I do have some empathy for the yellow one … it’s looks like it’s recovering from a hard night out! From £35 each.

I love wallpapers, and was recently harping on about the shoe paper by Graham & Brown to my pal Natalie of (Sophie4Sophie fame), when she reminded me about possibly THE COOLEST wallpaper ever. Frames designed by Taylor & Wood for Graham & Brown and it was featured a very long time ago over on Bambino Goodies ages ago as Natalie owns it.
Completely interactive, you decide what you want it to be – whether you want to put up your youngsters art, paint directly in to a frame, or put up family photos – it’s up to you! I want this to put this on one wall in my cloak room, with a big box of pens and colours and invite my house guests to get creative … perhaps that could be dangerous though!
You can get this from Wall Paper Direct for £17.99 a roll but make sure your rolls all have the same batch number!

When I visited Bubble London, the kids fashion trade show last month, I ended up having a massive nattering session with my mate whilst plomped down on these fabulous hexagon shaped, honeycomb inspired children’s seats designed by two Danish architects, Superspace. They’re really comfy and are made from Oekotex 100 certified organic fabric so no toxins.

Available in limited range, unbeknownst to me at the time, the middle of them comes out so they’re an imaginative play piece too as they can be stacked together and sat inside of as well as on.
EUR 168 each with free delivery, these are versatile pieces that you won’t be afraid to leave out in your sitting room.

I heart chairs. Fact. And I love the Philippe Starck Mademoiselle. From a geek point of view, it’s an innovative design for a chair in terms of its clever combination of its aesthetic qualities.: The base is an injected mould of transparent polycarbonate upon which are placed four fasteners which allows a sturdy yet flexible fit to a seat made of expanded polyurethane, which is then covered in fabric.
The base can be transparent or black, and the seat has fabric upholstery. Personally I prefer the transparent legs as they play homage to the iconic Ghost Chair. I have seen these configured with fabric from Missoni and Dolce & Gabanna as well as crocodile leather and the fantasy fabric which is pictured here.
These retail at about £525. Not bad for an iconic piece which is sure to be an antique of the future.

Yes, okay, I know, it’s a coat hanger, but, and that should be BUT in capital letters, if you’re looking for a really fab coat hanger you’re going to love the Normann Orgo Plastic Hanger from A White Room.
It comes in a range of colours including pink, black, white and green, and retails at £28 per pair. And to be fair it’s surely the coolest coathanger you’ve seen ….. right?!
I’m currently spending a lot of time browsing A White Room … I’d recommend you do that same.
And yes, I know … it’s a coat hanger. But I like.
