Winner of the Design Museum’s ‘Design of the Year Award 2009′, it’s handcrafted from new growth wood at an Indonesian farming village, so for every tree used in production, a new tree is planted.
I’m all over the retro styling and the beautiful contrast of the dark and blond wood makes this an object to treasure. The wood’s uncoated so it can be lovingly oiled occasionally. Despite retro appearances, it’s distinctly modern with its MP3 compatibility.
