I have recently reinvigorated my love of sewing which has been abandoned for many a year to be a boozer at uni, a traveller, worker, singleton, motherhood, self-employed, and well you get the idea…
Now that I am in the seeeerious nesting phase of my pregnancy, I have become obsessed with making-my-own (will never stop me shopping though) and if you’re looking for a book that shows you how to make items like duvets, pillowcases, storage bags, aprons, oven gloves, and the list goes on, this is brilliant!
Really well explained (it literally has beginner through to more complex but manageable projects), full size patterns at the front in a pocket instead of being asked to photocopy stuff and blow it up, and the photos of her pieces are so scrumptious and exciting, I’m about to dash off into central London to go fabric shopping so I can cope with all my projects!

I’ve just checked this out on Amazon as I’m due to start a sewing course in a couple of weeks. Lotta Jansdotter also has a new book you may be interested in. Simple Sewing for Baby: Projects for Newborns and Toddlers. It’s not yet been released but you can pre-order from Amazon.
I have ordered mine last week – I can’t wait! Lucky you going on a sewing course – one day I’ll make time!
I’ve ordered one too so can’t wait to get it end of April. I’ve been meaning to go on a course for a while but recently purchased from Cloth Kits (which I discovered when browsing your website) so am determined to be able to complete the little dress for my daughter hopefully for Easter!!! Will shock everyone because at the moment I can’t even sew a button on!
