In the meantime, I did spot that Ikea have added the ‘buffet’ cabinet which is part of their Sjövik range of furniture. The stark whiteness is livened up a little with the etched out design that looks like two crescent moons and it gets bolder within with the contrasting red.
Featuring 8 shelves and a couple of drawers, it’s made from the usual mix of solid birch and particle board and is £299, a chic, minimal buy especially if shelling out three or four times the amount isn’t an option. If it had been cheaper, I ‘might’ have contemplated buying it and giving it a makeover…
