Ikea does Red … well.

by Claire on September 3, 2010

I have been hunting all things red today for the red room I mentioned the other day. First purchase was the Kivik two seater sofa. Compared to most of the other two seaters at Ikea the size is generous and with removable armrests and covers, it’s a very versatile piece. But the reason we opted for the Kivik is because the wide and low armrests are really comfortable support for your neck when you lie down. I tested it!

I also picked up a bargain Hampen rug. It’s available in red, green, black and white. I opted for red obviously. Long pile. £34.99. Happy days.

I also grabbed some red and orange Gunvor fabric which was on offer in the textiles section. It was only £2.99 per meter. Im planning on making something. What I am not 100% sure – probably cushions, they’re easy! I can’t find the fabric on the Ikea website, but it’s as pictured below.

Other favourite red spots were the Drommar baking tins (£6.99), the barometer lamp (£34.99)  - although I am still waiting for the Tesco’s lamp Nat spotted to be back in stock. I also picked up and put down about twenty times the Birgit Linje cushions (£14.99) and will be purchasing a Rocking Moose at some point too!
