London based company Clippy Kit design accessories and homewares (predominantly storage orientated) that allow you to customise their pieces with your photos and memorabilia.
The very young owner of the company, Calypso (I think she’s in her early 20s) who conceived the idea after creating a bag where she could display her collection of photos, has seen her products used by the likes of Jamie and Jools Oliver and Thandie Newton.
She must be doing really well, as I now see that her lamp kits are at one of my favourite stores Urban Outfitters. There’s something a little downstairs in a dark little jazz club about these and I likey a lot! Slide your photos (up to 20) in the individual plastic folders plus it also comes with its own zip up pouch. £25
You could, if you wanted to skip over the photos make this lamp like a patchwork of fabric squares, or mix fabric with photos, and insert little memory tokens – cinema and concert tickets, bits of postcards etc.
