Over at Bambino Goodies, Nat writes: I’ve been busy customising the girls Aneboda drawers by Ikea and wanted to share the work-in-progress after great feedback from peeps on Twitter. I’ve been meaning to inject some excitement into what are effectively very basic drawers that are cheap but no so cheerful at just £39.99.

I quite fancy a Hang-it-all coat hanger designed by Charles and Ray Eames for Herman Miller / Vitra (above) but I really can not justify the £150ish price tag which comes with it. Instead I’m going to opt for some of the Eames inspired offerings out there, like the one pictured below from eBay seller youroom-ltd for just £24.99:

Or perhaps opt for one of the plethora of simpler versions available, like the one pictured below which costs just £8.99 from Gift Monger. Bargain.

However, if you’re more in to monochrome, you can get this version for less than £3 from The Dot Com Gift Shop.

And lastly, I saw this little Magazine Rack over at Mooch, a nice addition to any room I think.

I love to read. I love books, and book loving equates to the need to have somewhere to stash my bound delights. Unfortunately I don’t have the space nor the funds to grab myself a Bookwave but there are loads of budget realistic options out there. The first which caught my eye was Casamania Opus Incertum (£248), looks fab, and it’s modular. I like modular.

John Lewis, one of my favourite high street stores, has the Bibilo Book shelf which is simple and functional, available in two sizes 90cm (£39) and 180cm (£69). You really can’t go wrong with that item at that price.

Loni is an offering from Habitat, the beauty of this one is that it can be used horizontally or vertically. And it’s cheap, just£89. And for all you retro lovers, this definitely has a retro vibe going on.

The very cool Lili Lite ($99) from Studio Smeets Design is a reading light, bookmark and bookshelf all in one. To turn off the light, you must put your book over the ‘bookmark’ as shown in the picture to engage a sensor. When you lift the book off, the light will come back on again. I love it. I want (minus the trailing wire though!!).

And if you too like books, then like me, I am sure you’ll be swooning over The Amazing Staircase (via Apartment Therapy). Quite frankly, it’s lush. And I don’t use ‘lush’ often.

This is amazing. I want this. No. I need it. It looks fabulous and it’s functional. Swooooooooooon. The Bookwave Hanging Storage, it’s a curtain, a room divider and a bookshelf. Made in felt fabric and stainless steel, the modular unit expands to any size to meet the growing needs of the users. It’s not cheap at just over £843 from made in design but worth every penny.

We’re big fan of functional on Nest, so when we came across the naoLoop we could not help but click click away. This one is all about the form and function. It’s sleek and simple and can keep your keys safe.

naoLoop Loft is a system of naoLoop tension straps fastened to a wall-mounted, steel shield. It can go anywhere but I’m thinking hallway, porch, office or kitchen. It measures 60 cm x 30 cm and is made out of stainless steel with a polyester latex band. Costs 85.00€ from Naolab direct.

Jasper Morrison Storage Unit

Jasper Morrison may not be a name you’re familiar with, but you can be sure that you are familiar with some of their designs, including the ever so popular air chair manufactured by Magis, which incidentally is one of the earliest one piece polyprop chairs out there, and the inspiration behind a whole host of other polyprop chairs such as the sebel postura+ (your kids are likely to have this one in their classrooms!). I digress….

I am currently swooning all over the polished lacquer Jasper Morrison for Cappellini storage unit and it’s steel rod legs. It is, quite frankly, lush. It’s worth every penny of the £1387 price tag. I want. Enough said.

I must be having a colourful storage day as I’ve just been admiring the mini metal storage trunks from Rose and Grey, and now I’m oggling these statement storer trunks in mood boosting brights. Made from high quality plywood, there’s seven colours to choose from (there’s also black, green, and burgundy), and oodles of room. £200 each from John Lewis plus there are other size options and varying trims.
