eBay Store Love: londonpuppetshow

I am loving the seller londonpuppetshow on eBay. They have managed to get their paws on some beautiful vintage / retro furniture in brilliant condition. The photos are just a small sample, some of the chairs they have which I have not pictured are divine and I shall shortly be featuring them over on Chair Lover. The prices are good. Cheapest item is a Vintage 50s Lounge Chair for £149 (0r offers) and the most expensive being the Rosewood Shelving unit, which I adore. That’s £900.

To be fair, I would personally have some of the items recovered, but that’s a personal taste thing. If you’ve a few spare minutes, go check them out!

Pleciaki Storage Stools

Aren’t these Pleciaki Storage Stools fabulous little find! These functional storage stools are ideal for stashing all your stuff away – yeah okay, could be toys, but we all own ‘junk drawers’, or a drawer full of cables and what have you …. (please don’t let on if it’s just me!), and if you’re a knitter, these would be brilliant to store your bundles of wool in.

The design is polished inspired – as is everything on the Beetroot website - but they’re made of old newspapers, so they’re ecological too. The cushioned seats are folk inspired. I am a fan. They cost £95 each.

Hot Danish Bargain Destination: Tiger

If you don’t leave in London and the south east, I apologise in advance for being a ‘swoon tease’ although I do believe that they intend to rapidly expand. Tiger a Danish homewares and accessories emporium with Ikea type prices.

After spotting a news piece in the April issue of Ideal Home, I headed there with buddies Heather and Ruth to the one in Croydon. I left with a yellow bathroom bin, pistachio green glazed ceramic oven dish, a bag of chilli flakes, a tub of arts and crafts bits for the kids, two packets of jellybeans (not to my taste though) for just under £20. Ruth snapped up a vintage inspired teapot for around £6 – one of those bamboo handled ones, and Heather went nuts on toys and stationery.

Sadly they don’t have an online store but they do show some highlights although annoyingly nothing that we purchased. The mill plate is £1 and can be used as a grater or zester, the floral ceramic bowl is £2, and the storage baskets which come in various sizes are from around £3 in a selection of colours.

Of course after seeing the lime green cuteness that is this Three Little Bird Coat Hook, I’ve had to put on some Bob Marley. These hooks will look just as great in kids room lifting stuff off the floor as they will in a hallway or kitchen. £9.99 Rockett St George

Self Shelf: Invisible floating bookshelves

I love quirky storage and Self Shelf is ticking that box for me as it’s a shelf disguised as a book that gives the illusion of an invisible floating bookshelf. Certainly a talking point, they’re available in a blue, yellow, or red tome. £22.50 each at Dutch By Design.

I just saw this over on the Tesco website, it’s reminiscent of the Habitat Cleo Bookshelves, and at just £99 it’s a bargain. I’d be tempted to leave out the larger back boards though, as I think they cheapen it. I’ve yet to order from Tesco, but I’m ready to get clicking as soon as that retro desk lamp Nat spotted way back when comes back in to stock … if it ever comes back in to stock that is!

For a long time now, I’ve had a secret plan to get an iconic Uten.Silo organiser by Dorothy Becker for the kitchen until I told the boyf, who poo poohed the idea when I told him the price. Note to self – stick to saying you got it in the sale…

Anyway, I’ve only gone and fallen in love with this industrial aluminium delight by House Doctor DK, a Danish interior company that is now rivalling Rice for my affections and that’s saying a lot! While I am a colour fiend, I love the starkness of the design with the studs fastening the storage pockets and hooks along the bottom. A gorgeous organisational hub, it would be warmed up with the splashes of colour from everything I’d fill it up with. £168 Bodie and Fou

Incidentally for comparison, it’s smaller both in size and price then the Uten.Silo.

Habitat Cleo Bookshelves on Sale

Quick, quick. The Cleo bookshelves and CD holders over at Habitat are on sale. The large shelves have £58 off! The smaller bookshelves and CD holders are a fraction over £100. They are made from matt lacquered MDF. Both versions are the same height to enable them to be used modular. Love them.

Swooning at Pedlars: Industrial 9 Drawer Unit

I was just browsing over at Pedlars at this little beauty (again) so thought I ought to share. It’s a good, solid, heavy, metal, Industrial 9 Drawer Unit. Apparently, it is a faithful reproduction of an item found in a factory in central France. I am swooning. This has my name all over it. It’s £995. New delivery due any day.

And if you love the 9 drawer unit you’re bound to love the Children’s Locker Unit. £1300.

I’m saving my pennies…..
