Budget Wing Back Chairs

by Claire on September 6, 2010

I opened up Living etc this week to see Naughtone’s Hush Chair (pictured) featured in their wing back chair article. This company has been on my radar for some time now, I specify their pollen range during my day job quite often. Of late I have seen them beginning to feature more frequently in the non-contract world. The Hush chair costs £1400 so whilst beautiful is perhaps out of budget for many of us.

So I bring to you a couple of wingback chairs that wont break the bank but are still fabulous. First up is the  iChair. This is one for you to kick back and rock out in. It has a standard audio jack that lets you plug in your iPod! $399. Cool eh.

Or how about the striking winged silhouette of this modern leisure chair. It’s cheap at just over £260 and has a tiny little bit of a Tom Dixon feel to it.

Next up is the Wegner Style Wing Chair – it’s a cheap reproduction in the style of the original design, which is one of Wegner’s most recognised and decorated designs.

And finally, for the bambinos, this lovely wooden wingback chair from Etsy seller ForeverandAfters … just $130USD but check shipping costs.

Of course, you can always look up wing back chairs on eBay, grab yourself a bargain and get them upholstered to your choice of fabric by someone like Eclectic Chair who is just fabulous. Just check this wing backed beauty out…

oh thank you! perfect timing! I am looking (and have been for ages) for the perfect chair, Wegner would be my choice but as it’s too expensive, this repro version may be the one!
