I’ve just ordered one of these Banana Bag’s from Lakeland as my friend has been raving about hers and it’s a brilliant solution to a very annoying problem.
Designed by Devonshire based Christine Coombes, it’s a bright yellow storage bag for bananas which you put in the fridge and it gives them just the exact amount of insulation and air needed to stop the flesh over-ripening. They won’t go black either and they should stay yellow and nice for around a fortnight, which is about twice the normal lifespan.
We throw away a fortune in bananas each year as there’s always one or two that go off. Another wonderful side effect that they don’t mention is you will no longer have to worry about keeping bananas away from your other fruit – when you put them in fruit bowl with other fruity friends, they rot them quicker.
The bag’s wipe-clean and is a super cool £4.88.
