Oh how the loaded live…and really, you’ll need to be packing a few pounds in the ‘ole bank balance for the visual delight that is the €2100 Amber in the Sky Bunk Bed by Perludi.
The work of Austrian designer Thomas Maitz, this is 100% recyclable beautiful design. There’s no glue, and it’s made from a newly developed composite material combining European birchwood and Austrian loden. The latter is actually 100% wool, wear resistant fleece fabric. They stretch it over the wood to act as joining elements, hence the lack of glue or dowels.
If you have an only child, the lower bunk can be a play area (a very cool one at that) and when you have two tots, you can put a mattress in to take it to full bunk bed mode.
As you can see by the fairly tall child in the pic, there’s plenty of headroom but surprisingly, the overall height of the bed is around 135cm so it also works well in low ceiling spaces like flats and newer builds.
You can wipe down the surfaces of the bed with a damp cloth or soft brush, or even run the vacuum cleaner over it.
Love it! Waaaay out of my price range though! If it’s in yours, its surprisingly only €27 for delivery.
